Still Life with Mandarines and Pumpkin

Still life oil painting of a small yellow pumpkin, two mandarines, a spoon, a small copper pot, a pear, a blue castor oil bottle and a carafe.
I wondered, initially, if I'd overdone the colours in this painting, but then I realised it's the pumpkin that makes it gourdy.

I've never really been an early bird because I'm scared of catching worms.

Autumn Sunset, Rosebery Hill, Pipers Creek

Landscape oil painting of trees with autumn leaves and cast shadows.
I find it very difficult to capture autumn colour -- I always fall short.

Still Life with Copper Pot

Still life oil painting of a copper pot, a knife, two onions, a small copper jug, a pepper grinder and an antique bottle.
This painting, somewhat larger than many of my efforts, took four sessions.  I was being a bit of a fuss pot.

Still Life with Quinces and Pumpkin

Still life oil painting of two quinces, a pumpkin and an earthenware bottle.
These are the same two quinces I painted a fortnight ago.  They've given me a new lease on still life.

Wooden Elephant with Quince

Still life oil painting of a small carved wooden elephant beside a quince.
I maintain a schedule of almost daily painting in the hope it will bear fruit.  Still waiting for the bear fruit, so elephant fruit will have to do for now.

Still Life with Onions and Ceramic Cup

Still life oil painting of two onions, a copper vase and a green ceramic cup amongst dark blue drapery.
These onions were bought from my local fruit and veg shop, the cup and vase each came from a second-hand shop and the sheet came from Target.  That's the story of my still life.
