Eggplant with Porcelain Jug

Still life oil painting of a small eggplant beside a blue and white porcelain jug.
There once was an eggplant and jug,
Who connived with an old ladybug;
For the three did conspire
To set off a fire,
And took the insurers for mugs.

Nectarine with ISO Tasting Glass

Still life oil painting of a nectarine beside an upturned ISO tasting glass.
To leave no stone fruit unturned (sorry if such a pathetic puns causes you to glass over).

Melbourne Airport from Woodlands Homestead, Greenvale

Landscape oil painting of a eucalypt beside open paddocks with distant control towers.
I've a hunch that paintings of airports are really going to take off.

Woodlands Homestead, Greenvale

Oil painting of the front of a house with a red gable roof surrounded by box hedges, trees and flowers.
I couldn't see the woodlands for the trees, so I painted a home instead.

Pipers Creek Landscape with Horses

Landscape oil painting with two horses in the foreground with trees and rolling hills behind.
I wonder how many votes would get up in a horse parliament.  All those in favour say...

Eggplant

Still life oil painting of an eggplant laid on its side.
This eggplant was laid on its side, but it was no poultry affair.

Eggplant with Copper Jug

Oil painting of an eggplant beside a copper jug on a windowsill.
Despite considering the composition of this painting for some time, I now regret depicting the jug and eggplant so far to the left; oh, for a wee bit of juggling -- still, even the best laid plants go awry.

Corella Pear with Glass Vase

Oil painting of a green and red pear beside a tulip-shaped glass vase.
When a corella pear appears it becomes a-parrot.

Pepper Grinder

Oil painting of a tall wooden pepper grinder.
This is a quick sketch done on an offcut of odd dimensions; such a ratio, for me, is breaking new ground (this pun is strangely appropriate given that this pepper grinder is relatively new and I seem to have broken it -- if you like, it has ground to a halt).

Milk Jug with Turnip

Oil painting of a turnip beside a small white porcelain milk jug.
That the depicted turnip is shorter than the accompanying milk jug is mainly due to the law of diminishing returnips.
