Portrait of a Young Woman

Oil painting of a woman with dark hair tied in a bun, and wearing a white top.
Whilst the model was in this pose she was otherwise indisposed.

Quince with Light Bulb

Oil painting of a quince beside a small incandescent light bulb.
You'll not see nothing like the lighty quince.

Wooden Elephant with Banana

Oil painting of a small carved wooden elephant in front of a banana.
The internet would have me believe that elephants are partial to bananas.  The same is true of this painting.

Red Pepper with Ceramic Cup

Oil painting of a red pepper beside a green ceramic cup positioned on its side.
Pepper cup: probably lined with plastic and therefore not recyclable.

Self Portrait

Oil painting of the face of a middle-aged man with a shaved head and a beard.
In order to complete this portrait, I had to take a good hard look at myself.

Plastic Skull with Violin

Oil painting of a plastic skull beside a violin standing upright.
This violin has been painted with no strings attached--no unnecessary details, just bare bones.

Cherry Tomatoes in Wine Glass

Oil painting of several cherry tomatoes in a wine glass.
This isn't the first time I've painted a tomato in a wine glass, only this time I thought I'd have a second bite of the cherry.

Quince

Oil painting of a quince with two leaves on a block of wood.
Coincidental: The unlikely incidence of a toothache being cured by a quince.

Shop in Piper Street, Kyneton

Once again, this image is a fairly ordinary reproduction of the painting: it seems I am somewhat able to PaintShop, but am apparently less able to Photoshop.

Milk Jug with Zucchini

Oil painting of a white porcelain milk jug beside a zucchini.
There once was a jug and zucchini,
For whom evenings were spent with Puccini.
Some nights choral hums,
Other times sleep for none,
And an elephant--or was that Henry Mancini?

Banana in My Left Hand

Oil painting of a banana held in a hand.
Ahem, I'm aware of how this looks, but I can attest to the fact that I didn't set out to be so crude; as a painter I certainly wouldn't risk going blind.

Still Life with Oranges and Plastic Bag

Oil painting of oranges in a white plastic bag beside a carafe, a glass sphere and a champagne flute.
This is a very bad reproduction of a four-week class exercise.  It is somewhat of a mixed bag, especially given that resetting the still life each week was a difficult orangement.
