I investigated engaging a chimney cleaner but was told they were notoriously unreliable; however, this turned out to be a sweeping generalisation.

Old Kyneton Hospital and Emergency Ward
Whilst painting this picture, the police paid me a visit ostensibly to admire my work; in truth, I think they were wondering why I was hanging around an abandoned hospital. Whilst holding my brush I also had a brush with the law.

Red Pepper with Antique Poison Bottle
Harry Secombe had a twin brother who was almost indistinguishable except for the fact that he always wore a red hat; hence his nickname Red Cap Secombe. When asked to name his poison, Red Cap was said to have dubbed it Arthur.

Studley Park Boathouse
It was late afternoon by the time I arrived at the Studley Park boathouse, and as I set up my easel all the boats were put away. I literally missed the boat.

Ginger Beer Bottle
This painting was largely executed in the half light, and as the painting progressed it became increasingly difficult to see. I thought I'd let you know, dear reader, so as not to keep you in the dark.

Jageurs Lane near Story Street, Parkville
It was evening on a Sunday and I was struggling to find a subject to paint; I could have lain down in defeat, but instead, I went down on my feet to the lane (behind my house).
