Nectarine with Small Bottle

Oil painting of a small, long-necked glass bottle beside a nectarine.
According to Wikipedia, nectarines are sometimes referred to as a "fuzzless peach", so I asked this nectarine which appellation it preferred.  It replied, "whichever, I'm not fuzzy."

River Red Gums, Royal Park

Oil painting of two eucalypts separated by a path.
The smaller tree in this painting may well be the offspring of the larger, and therefore quite possibly a son of a gum.

Bishopscourt, East Melbourne

Oil painting of a Victorian-era portico with nearby trees, flowers and shrubs.
This was painted towards the rear of the building, which in cricket circles is known as court behind.

Copper Jug with Apple

Oil painting of a copper jug beside a red apple.
The coppers arrested the apple: it was cored in the act.

Jaguers Lane, Parkville

Oil painting of a street scene with telephone poles, a hedge and buildings.
Although I've painted Jaguers Lane on numerous occasions, I'm still serving my apprenticeship: it will take some time and much effort for me to become a Jaguer-meister.

Sauce Jug with Red Onion

Oil painting of a blue porcelain sauce jug beside a red onion.
It's so hard to keep coming up with onion puns (especially red ones): bloody Allium.

Lemon in Glass Jar

Oil painting of a lemon in a glass jar--laid on its side--with a gold-coloured lid.
I composed a somewhat juicy caption for this picture, but I've decided to keep a lid on it.

Former Presbyterian Church Hall, Parkville

Oil painting of the doorway to a Victorian-era brick ecclesiastical building.
This building of modest length is, from my flat, only a short haul.

Peppers

Oil painting of a large red pepper and two smaller yellow peppers.
Per diem painter picked a peck of prismatic peppers; except that it's a paltry peck (according to Wikipedia, a peck is a quarter of a bushel, which is a bit more than shown here) and can barely be described as peckish, unless of course you're hungry.

Wooden Elephant with Tomato

Oil painting of a small carved wooden elephant beside a red tomato.
I struggled a bit with this painting, even though it wasn't exactly a mammoth task.

Pipers Creek Landscape

Oil painting of a landscape with rolling hills and trees, with three cows in the foreground.
It's too late for me to come up with a pun about cows: I really need to hit the hay.

Pear with Copper Vase

Oil painting of a small copper vase beside a green pear.
These two make a right pear, and a left vase.

House on Morrah Street, Parkville

Oil painting of a Victorian-era house with bordered by trees and a box hedge.
After leaving my house in search of a painting subject, I became engrossed with the light reflecting from this building: I was under house arrest.

Oil painting of five eggs in an egg carton.
One egg has clearly been mislaid.
