Still Life with Porcelain Jug and Apple

 

This is a painting done as a demo for Emilio Longo's Skill-Based Art: A Learning Resource for Art Students & Artist-Teachers™  (https://skillbasedart.weebly.com/).  The demo should be on the website early in the new year.

There will also be an interview with yours truly, though I'm embarrassed to say I spoke for almost three hours in a tedious ramble about myself.

Benjamin Disraeli is alleged to have said "Talk to a man about himself and he will listen for hours"; in my case it seems if one asks a man about himself he will talk for hours (literally).

This was going to be a painting about an apple, but I killed that idea when I put the knife in.

Although I drove to this location, I had to walk around a bit before I found the scene I wanted to paint.  You could say, I put Hart and sole into it.
